1942 Collares Burjacas red
Description
Colares wines are a unique paradox within Portugal. From the vineyards themselves — untouched by Phylloxera due to their sandy soils — to the distinctive quality that these wines embody.
The unique character of Colares wine is attributed to its grape varieties, the sandy soils, and the temperate, humid summer climate, as well as the fact that 80% of the vineyards are planted in sand, preserving traditional viticulture practices.
Colares wine only reaches its full potential after several years, although the minimum ageing period is 18 months. As a result, availability on the market is extremely limited.
