1987 Warre's Quinta Cavadinha Vintage Port
Description
The name of William Warre appears for the first time associated with the Port wine trade, with the creation in 1729 of Messrs. Clark, Thorn & Warre, benefiting from a long tradition of family history linked to the production of Port wine since 1670. The young Warre, who had served as a soldier under the Duke of Wellington in the war against the Napoleonic invasions of the Peninsula, was to play a decisive role in the recognition and growth of the brand, which by the end of the 18th century Warre & Sons had already accounted for 10% of total Port wine exports in 1791.
