The vineyards of the Fundação Abreu Callado, all planted near Benavila, date back to the mid-1950s, and some of these pioneering strains are still in production today. There are approximately 52 hectares of clayey soil, benefiting from the mild climate provided by the Maranhão Dam, which is reflected in the quality and excellence of the wines.
Also located in Benavila, the Winery maintains traditional vinification and ageing methods, together with modern techniques, and can store two to three consecutive harvests.
