Liqueur wine from the Azores, produced by hand. It presents a clear aspect, golden yellow colour, a special vinous aroma, complex, reminiscent of toasted spices. Intense and persistent. In the mouth it is warm and dry, revealing the noble evolution of American oak barrels.
A touch with fine grape spirit during fermentation, long ageing of 3 years in wood, and a rigorous selection of the best vessels, were at the origin of the production of this Quality Liqueur Wine Produced in Pico Region.
The Cooperativa Vitivinícola da Ilha do Pico was founded in 1949 when local producers got together to try and recover the noble grape varieties and the culture of the stone corral vineyard, now classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
As the years went by, more members joined this cause, now numbering 250, among women, men and families who dedicate their lives to their passion and a centuries-old art. Today, with 70 years of history, it is the oldest wine producer in the Azores that continues to respect and preserve the traditions of winemaking. This alliance constitutes the quality of the wines created on Azorean soils.
