The current owners of Château Laroze in Saint-Émilion, the Meslin family, are direct descendants of the founding couple, Georges Gurchy. The Gurchy name dates back to 1610 in Saint-Émilion, where the family's ancestors were already known as wine producers in Saint-Émilion. In 1882, the couple bought three small vineyards, brought them together and founded the family estate of Laroze.
