The Vintage designation is the highest rating that can be assigned to a Port wine. It is considered Vintage Port wine obtained from the harvest of one year and one vineyard (usually of the same variety), and is a name given only in years considered of exceptional quality. Sufferers aging in cask for a maximum period of two and a half years and later is aged in the bottle.
