2002 Quinta das Bágeiras Garrafeira white
Description
The Quinta das Bágeiras Garrafeira White is produced from old vines over 75 years of age, following a philosophy of minimal intervention that respects the wine's natural rhythm and evolution. Fermented in old wooden vats and bottled without fining or filtration, it displays remarkable elegance, with aromas of flint, ripe citrus fruit and subtle spice. The palate is broad, fresh and complex, supported by vibrant acidity and a long, refined finish that perfectly reflects the timeless house style of Quinta das Bágeiras.
The name Mário Sérgio Alves Nuno may not say much to the more distracted, but he is no less than the great mentor behind the great wines of Quinta das Bágeiras. The history of Quinta das Bágeiras can already be summed up by the work of 3 generations, however, it was only in 1989, and under the wing of Mário Sérgio, that the Quinta das Bágeiras wines began to be bottled and sold, quickly becoming a reference in Bairrada wines and Portugal.
Although made according to the procedures of previous generations, the wines of Quinta das Bágeiras are not wines of fashions, but are always in fashion, revealing with each harvest the character of the region and of the people who produce them.
