A red wine half Portuguese and half Spanish, it is produced in part with the Portuguese grape variety Touriga Nacional from Quinta das Tecedeiras, located in the Douro, and with the Spanish grape variety Cariñena from the Priorat region. Thus, the two regions are combined, giving rise to the name Dovrat (Douro + Priorat).
In 1989, the confidence of three young people led to the creation of a company based at Quinta de Cabriz, located in Carregal do Sal, in the heart of the Dão region. The old vineyards were reconverted and new plantations were made, the company evolved, step by step, towards consolidation, clearly visible in the construction of a wine tourism complex in 1998. Other regions followed, namely in the Douro with Quinta Sá de Baixo and Quinta das Tecedeiras, in Bairrada with Quinta do Encontro, in Estremadura with Quinta do Gradil, in the Alentejo with Monte da Cal and in northeast Brazil with Rio Sol, called the united regions. Thus, Dão Sul emerges with the dynamics and ambition for quality and innovation.
