Description

Quinta do Carvalhão Torto red wine, is produced with Jaen and Alfrocheiro grape varieties, in a limited and numbered production of 10.000 bottles. After aging in stainless steel vats for a period of 10 years, it has a ruby colour with brownish nuances, typical of its age. The fresh and complex aroma, with notes of dry pine wood, reminds us of the typicality of these grape varieties planted in the Dão region, also revealing an excellent structure, fine tannins and a long and persistent finish.

Quinta do Carvalhão Torto is located in Nelas, geographic centre of the Demarcated Region of Dão wines, its history is indelibly linked to wine production, being owned by a family ancestrally linked to the precious nectar, heir to this "know-how". Its 7 hectare vineyards, with an average age of 40 years-old, are planted at an average altitude of 450 metres on granite-quartz soils. The constant search for typicity, authenticity and the sustainable maintenance of the vineyards, make these wines as interesting as they are surprising.
