Description

The Pavie Macquin vineyard is characterised by its location on a plateau, next to the Mondot hill and on the edge of the Fongaban fault. Thanks to its commanding position, its height ranges from 100 metres above sea level next to the hill to 75 metres on the edge of the plateau. On a single holding, it borders Troplong Mondot to the east and Château Pavie to the south, and overlooks Trottevieille to the north. They are therefore located in a region of particular quality, surrounded by three Premiers Grands Crus Classés.

The Château is now managed by Albert Macquin's grandchildren as well as his own sons, the Corre and Charpentier families. In continuing the tradition of their illustrious ancestors, they demonstrate a deep attachment to this wonderful terroir.

With a deep garnet colour, Pavie Macquin 2009, presents itself with aromas of Chinese spices, prunes, blackberry jam and notes of hoisin with hints of licorice. On tasting, it is full bodied and ripe with a velvety texture and loaded with berries and exotic spices, finishing long and perfumed.
