2011 Basape Reserva Rioja red
Description
Basape Reserva is produced from the Tempranillo grape variety and aged for 36 months in barrels, only being released to the market after a minimum of 2 years in bottle. This wine presents a deep ruby colour with brick-red nuances, offering a highly aromatic, balanced, and flavourful profile. It is a classic Rioja Alta Reserva, where the vanilla from the wood is combined with the fruitiness of the Tempranillo grape, complemented by significant total acidity that keeps the wine fresh and vibrant, allowing it to evolve positively in the bottle for many years.
Luis Marín Díez founded his company in 1970 with the aim of continuing a family tradition in the wine industry, passed down from father to son over several generations. Initially focused on bottling and wine distribution services, it was in 1991 that Luis Marín invested in his second winery, located in the heart of La Rioja, and began producing wines that, to this day, maintain the character of small-scale, artisanal production.
