Description

The 2011 Rieussec, a blend composed of 95% Sémillon, 2% Sauvignon Blanc and 3% Muscadelle. There is wonderful precision and minerality on the nose, with well-integrated spice notes. On the palate, it proves charming, with almond notes that linger on the long finish.

The 93 hectare vineyard of Château Rieussec is situated at the junction of Fargues and Sauternes, and is adjacent to Château d'Yquemau d'Yquemec. It is this location that enables the production of fine and elegant Sauternes wine, elevating Rieussec to the rank of the most important Sauternes and Barsac estates.

The estate was acquired in 1984 by Domaines Barons de Rothschild.
