The introduction of a new outstanding Vintage Port to Niepoort's portfolio, the Bioma Vinha Velha allows it to create, or recreate, a Vintage style that not only respects the terroir but also takes us back to the golden age of Port wine. At the heart of the Bioma "Vinha Velha" concept is a very special vineyard (Vinha da Pisca), in a very special part of the Douro region.
Bioma Vinha Velha offers, in small quantities, an ancient way of vinifying a vintage, similar to the Vintage Ports of 1970 and before, bottled in England. The exceptional quality of the old vines of Vinha da Pisca seems to express its sense of place magnificently when we apply the 'logic' of other times to it.
