With more limited and rare production, therefore less known but no less appreciated than Moscatel de Setúbal, the manor of Moscatel Roxo is the Setúbal Peninsula. This caste almost reached extinction in the last century because it was extremely difficult to guarantee a good production quantity. This gave way to the planting of other grape varieties during this period. The Moscatel Galego Roxo grape variety is distinguished by its aromas and sweet flavour, producing fortified wines of unequalled complexity.
