Description
Villages of Montoito is a village in the parish of Montoito, administratively belonging to the county of Redondo. It is inserted in the Reguengos subregion of the Alentejo Controlled Denomination of Origin (DOC Alentejo). In the second half of the nineteenth century, a family of farmers stood out in the region, whose matriarch family and friends called SABICA. In addition to the production of cattle and cereals together, Sabica encouraged each of their children to produce their own grapes and wines, which annually competed with those of their mother and those of their other brothers. In Casa de Sabicos wines, the philosophy of Avó Sabica wines is taken over by two new generations of Sabicos. From the same type of soil, the varieties are the same, the materials, the percentages and the distribution of those are carefully reviewed in order to obtain wines with the fundamental characteristics of those of Grandmother Sabica, now adapted to new consumption habits.
