2013 Colares Fundação Oriente Ramisco red
Description
The wines of Colares are a paradox without equality in Portugal. From the vines, which did not suffer from Phylloxera due to being planted on sandy soils, to the distinctive quality that these wines are home to.
The unique characteristics of Colares wine are due to its grape varieties, soil and climate which is temperate and humid in summer, and also to the fact that 80% of the vineyard is installed on sandy soils, respecting traditional viticultural practice.
The Colares wine only reaches its maximum quality after several years, although the minimum ageing period is 18 months. Given this factor, marketing is very limited.
