This wine results from the deep friendship between Dirk Niepoort and Raúl Pérez. The "deal" was as follows: Raul going to the Douro to make wine, Ultreia Douro, and Dirk going to Bierzo to make wine. From this exchange Calderera was born, a wine made from the Godello grape variety. The result is a very fresh, complex, and aristocratic wine.
