2015 Fundação Eugénio de Almeida EA red
Description
The Fundação Eugénio de Almeida is a Portuguese institution of private law and public utility, headquartered in Évora, whose statutory purposes are materialised in the cultural, educational, social, and spiritual domains, aiming at the full, integral, and sustainable human development of the Évora region. Created by Vasco Maria Eugénio de Almeida in August 1963.
Among its assets, donated by the Founder to be the economic foundation of the development of the Foundation's mission, there is a set of rustic properties in the municipality of Évora where a project of agricultural, industrial, and wine exploitation is developed, which has been carried out in the region since time immemorial. The Institution is also the heir of a long history in the wine sector, since the end of the 19th century that the cultivation of vines is part of the production tradition of Casa Agrícola Eugénio de Almeida. It is in the excellence of the raw material that all the wine production of the Foundation is based.
