2015 Tapada do Chaves Reserva red
Description
Tapada do Chaves Reserva is the result of combining Aragonez, Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet grape varieties from the Moutas vineyard and an old vineyard planted in 1901, located at an altitude between 350 and 400 metres. It is a garnet-coloured wine with great concentration, revealing enormous aromatic complexity, with notes of wild fruits, rockrose, resin, earth and nuances of leather with balsamic touches. In the mouth, it is very elegant, with good volume and very present ripe fruit, expressing the classic profile of the Alentejo. The tannins are firm, it has good acidity, balance and excellent envelopment.
It is in the surroundings of Portalegre, in the lands of the Alto Alentejo, that the Tapada do Chaves wines are produced. For almost 100 years, this estate has given rise to wines of recognised quality which are among the best in Portugal.
Tapada do Chaves wines preserve the warmth and softness of the Alentejo region and are associated with a strong family tradition and a history of passion and dedication to the land. Originating from the vineyards of the estate that gives them their name, aged between 15 and 85 years old, these are wines to treasure and later savour to the full.
