2016 Anselmo Mendes Pardusco red
Description
Produced by the renowned winemaker Anselmo Mendes, this red Vinho Verde is made from the Vinhão, Alvarelhão, Cainho, Borraçal, and Pedral grape varieties is an open-coloured wine with a unique aroma and full of freshness. Pardusco was the name given to the first red wines exported to England in the 14th Century. This wine is a tribute to that glorious past.
The work of Anselmo Mendes is recognised in Portugal and abroad not only for the excellence of the wines he produces but also for the surprising and consistent way in which he innovates. The fermentation of Alvarinho grapes in wooden barrels or the use of ancient winemaking techniques, such as tanning, are some of the methods that make these wines a case apart in the world of whites.
