Description

Bacalhôa, founded in 1922 under the name João Pires & Filhos, has come a long way, establishing itself as one of the most innovative wine producers in Portugal. The company's activity began by producing wines with grapes from the Palmela region. During the '80s, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal began its expansion, acquiring properties throughout the national territory, creating new paradigms of quality wine production.

The Quinta da Terrugem located in Alentejo, in the parish that gives its name, in the municipality of Elvas, was acquired in 1991. It has about 60 hectares of vineyard planted with the varieties Aragonês, Tinta Roriz, Trincadeira, Castelão, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante Bouschet.
