Description
Located in Saint-Émilion, a sub-region of Bordeaux in western France, Château Cheval Blanc, as a 1er Grand Cru Classé, is without doubt an exceptional wine. Its history begins in 1832 with Ducasse, the court judge of the town of Libourne, buying an estate near the town, acquiring 15 hectares of vineyards from Château Figeac. Among the most acclaimed wines from Saint-Emilion in the world - the mythical Château Cheval Blanc assumes enormous importance over the years.
In Saint-Émilion, next to Pomerol, the estate has 39 hectares divided into forty-five plots in which each is treated as a separate vineyard because of differences in the age of the vines, grape varieties, soil types, etc. The combination of these factors makes the terroir of Cheval Blanc, where wines of great complexity are produced.
