The Quinta is located in the DOC region of the Douro Valley, in the left hand of the Douro river in the Cima Corgo sub-region, 4km south of Pinhão. Property of the family Cândido da Silva, Quinta da Carolina owns old vineyards, with the typical varieties from Douro Valley, with 30 to 40 years old, all exposed north and classified with the letter A. Since the end of the 90’s, by the hand of the well-known Californian winemaker Jerry Luperd, and nowadays by the hand of the French winemaker Jean-Hugues Gros, Quinta da Carolina has a limit production and a philosophy of sincere, maximum quality wines.
