2017 Casa da Passarella Villa Oliveira Vinha Centenária Pai d'Aviz red
Description
Villa Oliveira Pai d'Aviz red wine is a wine from the centenary vineyard of the property that gathers a set of native grape varieties such as Baga, Jaen, Tinta Amarela, Alvarelhão, Tinta Pinheira, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Carvalha, among others. This wine has an open ruby colour with wild fruit, earthy, floral and slightly vegetal aromas. In the mouth it is elegant, fresh and intense.
This is a producer that has risen from the ashes. It came to stay and write a new story, but the history of this house is old, dating back to the 19th century, when it was built. Great wines were born from this house and these vineyards. Who doesn't remember the P63, vinified at the time by José Maria da Fonseca. As fate would have it, it was "abandoned" to the world of wine, leaving only a faint memory of the great wines that were born there. Fate also decided that the new owner would be people of good taste, with extreme dedication to doing things well. Thus was born the new Casa da Passarella, to write a new chapter in the history of this house and in the Dão region. The wines are excellent and made with rigour and a lot of will to do the best.
