Description

Château Canon is a Premier Grand Cru Classé based in Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux. It has vineyards just outside Saint-Émilion and a large part at the entrance to the commune, which is difficult to access and traditionally harvested by hand and ploughed by horses. This small vineyard is planted entirely with Merlot, which is used in the Château Canon grand vin, along with a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc in the estate's various vineyards.

The 2017 Canon is a blend with around 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc and aged for 18 months in French oak. Deep garnet in colour, it has very expressive aromas of ripe black fruits, in addition to subtle notes of red roses, Ceylon tea, black olives and clay. On the palate, it is elegant and refined, with a smooth texture, freshness and minerality.
