2017 Kelman As Tourigas Grande Reserva red

The Kelman As Tourigas Grande Reserva Tinto is an exceptional wine, made from a nearly 80-year-old vineyard where the Touriga Nacional and Touriga Fêmea (Touriga Brasileira) varieties stand out. After a manual harvest, a delicate maceration process enhanced the typicity of these indigenous grape varieties, emphasising the extraction of fresh fruit and tannins. A 12-month ageing period in third-use French oak barrels added complexity to the wine, which presents a deep ruby colour, with vibrant red and violet reflections still clearly visible.

On the nose, it reveals ripe fruit, evoking dark fruit, complemented by subtle floral notes. Touriga Fêmea brings a touch of elegance, while Touriga Nacional provides maturity and freshness, resulting in a perfect balance. Forest aromas, characteristic of the estate’s terroir, blend with balsamic and lightly toasted notes.

This wine showcases the best of both varieties, with a fresh and elegant flavour, balanced by power, structure, and vibrancy. It is a concentrated wine, with a fresh and long finish, distinguished by its excellent volume and structure.
