Description
Produced in exceptional years, Bluníssima comes from a 40-year-old vineyard and is the result of the discretion and detail of those who produce it. Made from Aragonês grape variety, it aged in French and American oak barrels for 13 months and also completed its ageing in stainless steel tanks for another 6 months before being bottled.
So this is a red wine that presents itself with a deep ruby colour, aromas of notes of ripe red fruit, wood and light mentholated, suggesting pleasant notes of leather. Well-integrated wood notes, derived from its aging, bring to the tasting sweet spicy and smoked elements, all set on a limestone background. In the mouth, it is seductive and refined, with body and captivating freshness, with robust but delicate tannins. The finish is engaging and prolonged and presents great potential for aging in bottle.
Monte Bluna starts its journey in the wine industry when it acquires a small parcel of 40-year-old vines in the Lisbon region. The 6 hectares at altitude, flanked by the Atlantic Ocean and the Tagus River, are now exploited to create wines, that express a unique and harmonious character, in total balance with the environment.
