Quinta do Monte Xisto is made with Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa and Sousão grapes from the best plots, exposed to the north and south, trying to find the right balance between structure/body and elegance/acidity.

Nicolau de Almeida's Quinta do Monte Xisto stands out in the Upper Douro, in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, for its location on the left bank of the River Douro and its Mediterranean/Continental microclimate. Surrounded by the Marão and Montemuro mountains, it offers ideal conditions for distinctive wines.

With a focus on diversity, the family adopts organic farming, promoting a sustainable ecosystem with the inclusion of woodland, olive groves, almond trees and orchards. Preventive practices, such as infusions and natural fertilisation, align the search for self-sufficiency, while viticulture integrates ancestral wisdom and scientific knowledge, in order to find harmony between human practices and nature.
