2017 Tapada do Chaves white
Description
The Tapada do Chaves white is produced from grapes grown in the Vinha do Castanheiro vineyard, planted on granitic soils. It shows a greenish-citrus colour and a classic aromatic profile, without oak ageing, where notes of white fruit, floral nuances and citrus hints of orange peel stand out, accompanied by subtle brioche notes. On the palate, it reveals great volume and a smooth texture, with expressive fruit, firm acidity and delicate minerality. The finish is long, elegant and full of character, precisely reflecting the identity of its terroir.
It is in the surroundings of Portalegre, in the lands of the Alto Alentejo, that the Tapada do Chaves wines are produced. For almost 100 years, this estate has given rise to wines of recognised quality which are among the best in Portugal.
Tapada do Chaves wines preserve the warmth and softness of the Alentejo region and are associated with a strong family tradition and a history of passion and dedication to the land. Originating from the vineyards of the estate that gives them their name, aged between 15 and 85 years old, these are wines to treasure and later savour to the full.
