Description

Produced from the Encruzado grape variety, typical of the Dão region, it was vinified naturally and aged for about 9 months on its lees ("batonnage sur lies").

At Casa de Mouraz, all the vineyards are cultivated ecologically, without the use of herbicides or synthetic agrochemicals, and have been certified by ECOCERT since 1996. The soil is fertilised by sowing plants and using organic fertilisers. Vineyard treatments use natural products such as copper, sulphur, seaweed, clay and plant tisanes.

Organic agriculture at Casa de Mouraz is guided by respect for the soil, plants, human beings and life in all its diversity and ecological integrity. Less manipulated, the soil produces a more authentic wine, faithfully reflecting the terroir and vineyard where it was created. Since the end of 2006, Casa de Mouraz has also adopted biodynamic practices, seeking to deepen the harmony between soil, plants, animals and human beings.
