2018 Contracena Blanc de Noirs white

The passion for wine and, more than that, the constant dedication to the wine activity has been going through the Cândido family for several generations. José Cândido, the patriarch of the Family, developed his professional activity as a farmer from an early age, with wine being his main source of income. As a wine producer, naturally, in an empirical way, he played multiple roles throughout the process: winegrower, winemaker, storekeeper and finally, salesman. He was solely responsible for the quality of the wine produced as well as the contact with connoisseurs, his potential customers. His permanent concern was to produce a wine that would suit the taste of his tasters. José Cândido's activity had a new development; his son Joaquim Cândido, a doctor, passionate about viticulture, decided to support Father's activity by continuing with the planting of new vineyard areas, building his own winery and, following technological developments, applying scientific methods in the production process. Shortly thereafter, two of his sons, Mariana and Rui, an economist and biochemist, completed the team that today assumes the management functions of the company.
