Description

Cortes do Reguengo red wine is produced from the Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grape varieties, manually harvested and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation it ages for about 18 months in French oak barrels. It has a bright ruby colour, with aromas of red fruits and toast. In the mouth, the tannins are soft and well integrated.

The Quinta do Reguengo, is located in the sub-region of Douro Superior next to the Douro River in Pocinho, Vila Nova de Foz Côa, characterized by clay-shale soils where granite outcrops can be found. This type of soil, combined with different altitudes, exposures, and grape varieties, is influenced by the hot, humid winds from the Douro River valley and the cooler winds from Spain, creating excellent conditions for the regular ripening of the grapes. Oenology is the responsibility of Pedro Branco, who is also the protagonist of the Família Silva Branco wines.
