Description

Pedigree red is made from multiple grape varieties from the estate’s old vines, with the grapes hand-harvested, selected, and fermented in lagares, using the naturally occurring yeasts from the grapes. It underwent a 24-month ageing process, with 50% of the batch maturing in new French oak barrels and the remaining 50% in used barrels. As a result, it presents an intense aroma of forest fruits and black fruit, with balsamic notes and spice. On the palate, it is fruity, with firm and well-integrated tannins. It has good acidity and a long, savoury finish.

A family with roots in the Douro region, specifically in the sub-region of Cima Corgo, with deep connections to the land, the vines, and its traditions. Committed to producing quality grapes for sale to major Port wine houses, they also apply this dedication to their own wine production.
