The Lua Cheia em Vinhas Velhas project results from the passionate connection that its 3 founders, João Silva e Sousa, Francisco Baptista and Manuel Dias, have maintained with the Douro for over two decades. After so many years of being surprised by this unique wine-growing region, in 2009 the time came to show how they saw the wines of the Douro. The company's story begins that year, with white wines from Murça, an area forgotten by progress, but which produces unique wines full of identity. In 2010, an investment began in the winery in Martim, Douro, and, in 2012, in the birthplace of Alvarinho, Monção. In 2013, a partnership was also started in the Alentejo, vinifying at third-party facilities grapes chosen and purchased in the Estremoz region.
