2018 Quinta Nova Vinha Centenária Referência P29/P21 red

Quinta Nova Referência Parcela 29/Parcela 21 is planted with the Touriga Nacional grape variety, comprises 3300 vines, and is located at an altitude of between 170 and 205 metres. It is a wine that represents a unique example in the history of Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo with its maximum expression of the terroir involved. A true reference in the Douro which, together with the centenary vineyard, Parcela 21, results in a wine with a very elegant profile, contrasting with an intense structure of expressive tannins. The schistose texture, high gravity, sappy profile, and the purple colour reflect well the nature of the Touriga Nacional grape variety.

The Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo is a place of extreme beauty in the heart of the Douro and has been owned by the Amorim family since 1999. The family's connection to wine goes back a long way, through its link with the exporting houses of Vila Nova de Gaia, via the cork business, but at that time this connection resulted in the realisation of a dream and the project is now in the hands of the 4th generation of the family. With a history spanning more than 250 years, the farm has retained its original 1764 winery building, following intervention by the architect Arnaldo Barbosa.
