Description

This Casal das Aires white wine is produced from the Fernão Pires grape variety, harvested from the old vineyards on the property, and planted in 1934. It has a rich and slightly spicy aroma, with notes of grapefruit and apple, as well as meadow flowers, reminiscent of the arrival of spring, with a focus on ranunculus. On the palate, it has a texture that oscillates between fresh marble and well-pressed linen, with a true length and presence in the middle of the palate. A very subtle and interesting bitterness contributes to its complexity, making it truly satisfying. This is the kind of wine that continues to impress and surprise with every sip.

Casal das Aires is a family estate in the Tejo wine region, focusing on organic cultivation and premium wines. Joana Pinhão was born in Alpiarça, a land with a winegrowing tradition very much ingrained in its people. Naturally, she dedicated her life to the world of wine and vineyards, integrating some renowned projects, such as the oenology team at Quinta Vale Dona Maria, but also carrying out some personal projects. Seeing the recognition that the Tejo region has garnered, the idea arose to move forward with his dream. In 2015, reconverted his vineyards in Charneca, where she bet on several national varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Trincadeira, Bastardo, Bical, Arinto, Fernão Pires, Alvarinho, Loureiro, Avesso, and also some international ones, such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet. The first wine of this new challenge, Casal das Aires, appeared in 2019.
