Description
Produced exclusively from the Bical grape variety, grown using certified organic and biodynamic viticulture methods, Nossa Calcário Branco accurately expresses the identity of the limestone soils from which it originates.
It has an intense, bright straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. The aroma is notable for its strong minerality and slight smoky note, typical of limestone, enveloped by nuances of ripe pear, characteristic of Bical, and delicate hints of dried fruit. As it evolves in the glass, hints of thyme and honey emerge.
On the palate, it is elegant and creamy, with an enveloping texture and marked minerality, translated into a subtle Atlantic-inspired salinity. Full-bodied and structured, it finishes long and precise, with notes of ripe and slightly candied fruit.
A wine with great gastronomic aptitude, ideal for accompanying noble fish, stewed veal, poultry or cured cheeses. With excellent ageing potential, it can age harmoniously for around 10 years.
Filipa Pato is the confirmation of the old saying "the son of a fish can swim". Although she followed in the footsteps of her father Luís Pato, including in her academic training, Filipa always wanted to have her world, her project, where she would show her ideas, and rise with her pulse. It was the 2001 vintage, a great year in Bairrada, that would provide all this.
Today, her wines are the result of Filipa's innovative and brilliant spirit, which have quickly become successful nationally and internationally.
