In November 1998, the Symington family proposed Bruno Prats to participate in a new project, which was to produce a great non-fortified wine in the Douro. This came about in 1999 with the creation of PRATS & SYMINGTON Limitada as an equal partnership between the two families. Some experimental vinifications in that first year made it possible to define and choose the best plots and the most suitable grape varieties for the project.
