2019 Sousa Lopes Petit Manseng Late Harvest white 50cl
Description
This late harvest of the Petit Manseng grape variety was vinified and matured in French oak barrels, always with strict temperature control. It presents a golden yellow colour, fresh and delicate aroma with hints of honey, peach, white flowers, and candied fruit. In the mouth it is complex and harmonious, finishing prolonged and elegant.
Manuel de Sousa Lopes has always had a special taste for agriculture and wines. Owner of two farms in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Quinta do Cruzeiro with 8 hectares of vines with the Loureiro, Arinto, Trajadura, and Chardonnay varieties, and Quinta da Senra with 7 hectares of vines with the Loureiro, Arinto, Chardonnay, and Vinhão varieties, he managed to pass this passion from generation to generation, despite his real profession having nothing to do with wine production.
So, in 1977, his son continued his father's dream and increased the legacy with the acquisition of Casa da Torre. Nowadays, it is Gonçalo Sousa Lopes, grandson of Manuel Sousa Lopes and son of Manuel Artur Sousa Lopes, who manages the family properties.
