Description

The Foudre wine was produced from a blend of traditional grape varieties from the Serra de São Mamede, from an 80-year-old vineyard planted at an altitude of 700 metres, which gives it a unique identity marked by freshness. It was vinified in a 1961 Alsatian Foudre, with a capacity of 1150 litres, where it aged for 16 months. The nose is sophisticated with fine, extremely elegant aromas. The palate is juicy, with a crystalline texture, exceptional minerality and an endless finish.

Susana Esteban is one of the Portuguese winemakers to follow. Her ingenious creations remain in the memory and her partnerships reveal what is good in the world of Portuguese wines.

Susana began her career in 1999 and it was in 2011 that she established her project in the Alentejo, when she acquired her first plots of vineyards.

In 2012 she was awarded the most prestigious prize a winemaker can receive in Portugal, the title of "Winemaker of the Year", by Revista de Vinhos magazine, has been to date the only woman to have been awarded this distinction.
