The white wine from Sta. Cruz by Telmo Rodríguez is considered an authentic wine, with low production and produced from traditional grape varieties grown on the slopes of the Bibei river, which runs through the town of Santa Cruz.
The vineyards are organically farmed and the wine ferments naturally, ageing in barrels and foudres for 10 months.
Galicia is a mysterious region with Atlantic and continental climates that give rise to exceptional wines produced with the Castaño and Jara grape varieties. The origin of viticulture in the region is unknown, but the hard work of local winemakers has allowed the maintenance of stubborn and difficult vineyards. In 2002, Telmo Rodríguez began to cultivate the vineyards with the help of locals who had worked the vines for generations. The varieties grown include Merenzao, Sousón, Treixadura, Godello Tinto, Brencellao, Doña Blanca, and Palomino. Dedication to this magical place is evident in the 23 hectares of cultivated vineyards.
