2020 Telmo Rodríguez Pegaso Barrancos de Pizarra Cebreros Sierra de Gredos red
Description
The Pizarra vineyards are planted in metamorphic soils, located at an altitude above 950 meters, reaching up to 1200 meters. Wines from here have a strong expression, giving a complex and deep-tasting experience.
The Pegaso Pizarra Vinhas Velhas red wine is produced from the Garnacha grape variety, originating from organic farming vineyards. After natural fermentation, the wine ages 24 to 30 months in French oak barrels.
Cebreros is a crossing point between the north and south, where the Imperial Way and the Cañada Real intersect. In the past, it was a centre for glass production and in the 19th century, viticulture became essential. In 1999, Telmo Rodríguez recovered the Garnacha (also known as Grenache) vineyards on the slopes of Arrebatacapas, the most important slate landscape in all of Gredos, producing Pegaso Barrancos de Pizarra. Today, Cebreros is an international category, where our Barrancos de Pizarra and Granito wines express the singularity of this extreme place.
