Description

Guru Vinha da Calçada is a parcel wine created from a blend of indigenous grape varieties from a century-old vineyard planted in granite soil at an altitude of 600 metres. This wine, which fermented and aged in foudre, is very elegant and seductive, with a delicate and refreshing aroma with notes of grapefruit, nectarine and lemon peel. On the palate it is balanced, well polished, with excellent creaminess and some salinity, very enveloping and with great elegance and complexity, with a smooth but very long finish.

Founded in 2001 by winemaking couple Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, the Wine & Soul company has invested in the Douro region, acquiring properties and old vines in the Pinhão River valley. The couple aims to create wines that express the full character of the Douro's old vines and indigenous grape varieties, seeking a balance between concentration, complexity, and elegance.
