2021 Maria Izabel Vinhas da Princesa white
Description
Maria Izabel Vinhas da Princesa White is a wine of remarkable elegance and depth, sourced from old vines over 80 years old on schist and granite soils. Made from traditional Douro grape varieties, it undergoes 20 months in barrel followed by a further 6 months in stainless steel “mass assemblage” ageing.
Pale citrus in colour, it shows a fresh and refined profile, with notes of lime, grapefruit, orange blossom and tropical hints, all framed by a distinct pure minerality. On the palate it is broad, vibrant and seductive, with lively acidity, a saline edge and a long, fine and precise finish.
In the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region, on the schist slopes of its valleys, lies Quinta Maria Izabel, which extends over 130 hectares, in one of the most privileged areas of the region.
Producing still wines and Port Wine, the property represents the Brazilian dream in Lusitanian lands, consolidating over the years in new ideas and concepts, developing seductive wines, full-bodied and with strong character.
