The Maria Fernanda Vinhas Velhas red wine is crafted from a selection of micro-plots of old vines at MENIN Douro Estates, where over 50 traditional grape varieties are grown. Planted on schist soils, with an easterly aspect and at altitudes ranging from 120 to 260 metres, these vines produce a wine that combines concentration, freshness and elegance. A red wine of great character, reflecting the richness and diversity of the Douro.
The passion for Portugal and the Douro on the part of Brazilian entrepreneurs Rubens Menin and Cristiano Gomes goes back a long way. First as an almost second homeland, now as the ideal destination for a unique project that aims to strengthen the historical legacy of the Douro. In the vineyard as in oenology there is the same philosophy: sustainability, quality and long-term. Menin wines are a reflection of their terroir, complex and with character, full of finesse and great potential.
