Description

Barroca da Malhada BRQA red is a blend of Trincadeira, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Baga and Alicante Bouschet, crafted using an artisanal approach with hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentation and low intervention in the cellar. Ageing takes place exclusively in stainless steel tanks, preserving a fresher and more direct profile.

It shows an intense colour and a clean, expressive nose, marked primarily by fresh red fruit. On the palate, it is smooth, well balanced and approachable, designed for uncomplicated moments where immediate enjoyment and ease of drinking are at the heart of the wine.

Barroca da Malhada is an artisanal wine producer from Beira Interior, rooted in a historic estate dating back to the Middle Ages, once owned by the Viscounts of Tinalhas. With around five hectares of vineyards farmed organically and following biodynamic practices, the estate works schist-sandy soils of granitic origin in one of Portugal’s most mountainous regions. The wines reflect a low-intervention approach, favouring authenticity, freshness and a true expression of place.
