Description
With an authentic and intense flavour, this wine is produced from a unique blend of Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo's main grape varieties - Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão - without ageing in wood, demonstrating that you don't need barrels to be sophisticated.
Ruby in colour, its aroma is young, exuberant and mineral, revealing a magnificent balance between fruit, dense structure and alcohol, with unusual richness and volume, promising to evolve very well in the bottle.
The Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo is a place of extreme beauty in the heart of the Douro and has been owned by the Amorim family since 1999. The family's connection to wine goes back a long way, through its link with the exporting houses of Vila Nova de Gaia, via the cork business, but at that time this connection resulted in the realisation of a dream and the project is now in the hands of the 4th generation of the family. With a history spanning more than 250 years, the farm has retained its original 1764 winery building, following intervention by the architect Arnaldo Barbosa.
