The House of Sandeman was founded in London, in 1790, by George Sandeman, a young Scotsman born in Perth who decided to invest £300, lent by his father, in the creation of a business marketing Port and Sherry Wines. Always a pioneer, Sandeman was the first Company to brand a fire cask with its name, guaranteeing the quality of the wine is sold. For over two centuries, Sandeman has based its success on a rare capacity for innovation and expertise passed from generation to generation.

Currently led by the Portuguese company Sogrape Vinhos, Sandeman assumes itself as "the" worldwide brand for Port and Sherry wines and proudly signs: "Sandeman, Famous for Pleasure".
