Black Bottle began in 1879 when three brothers - Charles, David, and Gordon - left the rural village of Torphins for the booming port of Aberdeenshire in north-east Scotland with a plan to make a fortune. After starting in the tea business, they quickly moved into whisky, taking advantage of Gordon Graham's remarkable skills in blending flavours. Thus, an inspiring Islay whisky was born, with fresh, floral flavours and aromas of spice and light smokiness.
