Description

Tawny are red wines made from the same grapes that Ruby, but only age two to three years in vats, then moving to casks. These allows to wine a greater contact with wood and air. So the Tawny breathe more, rusting and aging rapidly. Due to the high oxidation Tawny lose their initial color of red wines, gaining lighter tones such as amber, and flavors of dried fruits like walnuts or almonds. With age the tawny become even more aromatic complexity, enhancing their flavors.
